Tokyo 22nd,
Japan August 2015

After having to cancel some plans because a storm affected the train service in some parts of the country, we have some extra days in Tokyo. So, I have the opportunity to plan what to do today. As I love to walk, I design a route from our hotel to Odaiba, to Roppongi, back to the hotel. All in all, it is a 20 kilometers walk.

As we walk south, we reach Tokyo Bay. Thanks to a set of bridges, it is easy to walk from island to island.

After a long walk, we cross thru Odaiba and get to the Fuji Television Network building. There we stop for lunch at the One Piece themed restaurant.

We walk around the Island and visit several landmarks. Starting with the Gundam statue.

Fuji Television Network building hosts a small museum about the network. We take a look.

To leave Odaiba we walk above the Rainbow Bridge. The views from the bridge are impressive. As we get close to the other side the path suddenly ends. We get confused for a moment until we see a man coming out of an elevator. We take the elevator down and get into a building that has a small exhibit about the bridge itself.

In our way to Rappongi, we find a festival going on in the streets. We stop for a moment to enjoy the performances.

We are visiting the Mori Arts Center Gallery. After buying the tickets, we get into an elevator. I though that we may be going one or two floors up. I am surprised when the elevator accelerates and it reaches the 53rd floor. Once there, I see that there is another museum and an observatory. A shame that we do not have tickets for them, and the tickets can only be purchased in the basement floor.

After walking more than 20 kilometers, but very satisfied with all that we have seen we arrive to the hotel.
