Tokyo 29th,
Japan 2017-2018

Today is my first visit ever to the Comic Market or , as commonly known, Comiket. It is an event for fans of manga. Many of them will wake up very early in the morning to queue and be the first to get into the facilities. For some items there are limited supply and they do not want to miss out. I start queuing later in the day when most of the queue has already disappeared. Even with that, there is still a large crow waiting to enter.

The organization of the event is flawless. There is a lot of information about where to find each of the booths. The attendees are dedicated fans that know their preferences and are willing to navigate the very thick guidebook to find what they are looking for. I just go around stopping anywhere that gets my attention as my knowledge on the matter is limited. I purchase nothing this time, I will come back in a couple of days.

To end the day I go to a restaurant at the Tsukiji Outer Market. The food is delicious.

"Tsukiji Outer Market is Japan’s “Food Town,” where one can encounter all kinds of traditional Japanese foods. A mixture of wholesale and retail shops, along with numerous restaurants, line the streets, and new culinary trends are born here.  Originally Tsukiji Market catered primarily to professionals. That is why items sold there were generally too large for a small family to buy. However, some of the wholesale shops in the market have started retailing high-end merchandise to retail customers and visitors. For example, ready-to-eat sushi meals are now sold in smaller sizes. Even a bite-sized egg roll can be had for those who just want to try it." .- Tsukiji Outer Market
