"Kamakura was the de facto capital of Japan from 1185 to 1333 as the seat of the Kamakura shogunate, and became the nation's most populous settlement during the Kamakura period. Kamakura is a popular domestic tourist destination in Japan as a coastal city with a high number of seasonal festivals, as well as ancient Buddhist and Shinto shrines and temples. " .- Kamakura. Front, back and interior of the Daibutsu at Kotokuin Temple. There was a small queue to enter the statue, and there is no much to see, but it still was very interesting just to see how it looks.

Kamakura is a coastal city with many historical locations to visit. It would have been a shame to miss it being so close to Tokyo.
